This supervised program will allow students of all fishing levels to fish with friends at local fishing holes. Students will meet at various local fishing holes where they will try to land the “big one.” Parents must drop-off and pick-up their child at each fishing hole each day. Locations include: Monday, July 11th - Valley Falls - located on Valley Falls Road in Vernon Tuesday, July 12th - Walker’s Reservoir in Vernon (off of exit 67 by the commuter lot) Wednesday, July 13th - Shenipsit Lake, Tolland (meet on bridge on Tolland side) Thursday, July 14th - Student choice - (TBD, from one of the first three locations) Friday, July 15th - Student choice - (TBD, from one of the first three locations) Before the first trip, we encourage all students to sign up for the “CT Youth Fishing Passport” (http://www.ct.gov/deep/cwp/view.asp?a=2696&Q=513800&deepNav_GID=1630) This will allow our students a chance to participate in statewide fishing challenges as well as to attend fun fishing events throughout the fishing season. Students must supply their own fishing supplies (a fishing pole and tackle box) in order to participate. What to Bring on Fishing Trips: Fishing pole; Tackle box/fishing supplies/bait (Please check your child’s tackle box to assure there are NO KNIVES. We recommend bringing nail clippers or pliers.); Water bottle; Appropriate clothing - bring layers in case it is cold, warm or raining; Sunscreen, if necessary In the event of inclement weather which requires us to cancel a fishing trip for safety reasons, we will make every effort to reschedule that day’s session based upon teacher availability.
