students entering the 4th-10th grade.
The GAM SBI offers non-stop activity in an environment that¹s fun, safe and
nurturing for your loved ones during their Summer Break. The summer
camp will provide academic enrichment, physical fitness, great field
trips, character education, entrepreneurship projects, and so much
more!
In addition to offering core academic enrichment, the program guides youth
and teens in the process of starting a real business through hands-on real
world business start up activities. Students discover interests,
talents and entrepreneurial abilities while developing business
skills. We strive to provide programming that will inspire-EXCELLENCE!

The Garrett A. Morgan Summer Business Institute (GAM SBI) is a YOUTH ENTREPRENEURSHIP and SUMMER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM, designed for 4th-10th grade students.
The program focuses on:
• Preventing students from becoming victims of the “summer slide”
• Preparing students for academic and personal success.
• LEAP Prep
• Exposing students, in advance, to successful business and community leader
• Providing real-world experience through a unique entrepreneurship program that can help students understand how the business and marketing world operates. Students in these programs can develop a business idea and decide how to market and sell the idea. Running a real business, no matter how small, helps foster creativity, teamwork and discipline, and leadership.
CONTENT AREAS include but aren’t limited to:
Math | English | Language Arts | Reading | Science | Social Studies | Accounting Personal Finance | Management | Marketing | Basic Economics | Entrepreneurship Computer Skills | Communication Skills | Physical Fitness | Recreational activities
Students will explore FUNdamental field trips and participate in many fun physical activities, like bowling and swimming!
Criteria: Available for students ENTERING 4th through 10th grade, with a minimum GPA of 2.2 and above. The Garrett A. Morgan/Ford PAS Summer Business Institute primary focus is to provide a quality program for all participants; therefore, a zero tolerance discipline policy has been adopted.

• Normal Hours: M-F | 8:00 am-3:30 pm
• Early Morning Care: 7:30 am-8:00 am (registration required)
• Drop Off Location: Southern University Laboratory School | 129 Swan St. Baton Rouge, LA. 70813
• Pick Up Location: Southern University College of Business | T. T. Allain Hall
• Extended Day: 3:30 pm-5:30 pm (registration required)
• Registration: $40 per person (non-refundable, non-transferable)
• Camp Fee: $400 per person
• Extended Day: $60 per person (covers whole session)
