2013 Edinboro Triathlon. 27th Annual. Olympic Distance: 0.75 mile swim, 23.6 mile bike, 6.2 mile run. Sprint Distance: 0.3 mile swim, 10.0 mile bike, 3.0 mile run. Individual and 2-3 person Relay Teams. A total volunteer production, ET is presented as a non-profit community service event. Proceeds to benefit student scholarship programs, the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department and non-profits whose time and assistance contribute to the success of ET 2013.
Olympic Distance Event or Sprint Distance Event

ET 2013 will feature a 0.75 mile swim or a 0.30 mile swim. Both out / back swim courses start and finish at Crawford Beach on Lakeside Drive (main beach, west side of Edinboro Lake). A line of anchored, lifegurard-staffed pontoon boats will be anchored down the center of the swim course. A safety kayak crew will provide guidance to swimmers throughout the swim course. Expected water temperature: low-mid-60’s. Wetsuits strongly advised.
The bike courses start / finish at the Transition Area on Lakeside Drive and follow gently rolling, mainly country roads with no major hills. Beyond the start and finish, the bike courses are not closed to traffic however traffic control is provided throughout both courses. Safety-approved bike helmets are mandatory for all cyclists. Absolutely no exceptions.
Out and back, with no major hills, the triathlon run courses feature a challenging and fun Olympic 6.2 miles or Sprint 3.0 miles.
Timing, Results, Awards and Prizes
ChampionChip timing services will be provided by The Runner’s High. The awards presentation will be held immediately following the race. Awards will be presented to the top three overall men's and women's finishers and to 1st, 2nd, 3rd places in all individual and to 1st & 2nd in all relay team categories.
Edinboro Lake is located one-half hour south of Erie, Pa and is approximately 100 miles from Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo. Take I-79 to the Edinboro exit. Drive east on Rt. 6N for two miles, turn left onto Lakeside Drive. Be advised Lakeside Drive is now one-way north off 6N.
General Event Information
The Edinboro Triathlon is a non-profit event. Proceeds will be used first to cover race expenses . Remaining funds will benefit Edinboro University student scholarship programs, the Edinboro Volunteer Fire Department and selected non-profits. In the unlikely event of race cancellation (or any part of the race) due to severe weather or other safety-related conditions, entry fees are non-refundable and will be used for pre-race expenses. Remaining funds will benefit the selected non-profits.
Friday, May 31. 5 PM to 8 PM: Race packet pick up (and as space allows, day-before paper applications will be accepted) at Charlie's Pub and Eatery, Sunset Plaza, Rt. 99 north of Edinboro. Edinboro's triathlon has long been established as a popular, high-quality, well-organized, safe and great fun event. The tradition proudly continues with 27th edition of Edinboro's triathon in 2013. With over 300 ET race applicants in most years (with a record entry field of 494), a full 2013 entry field is anticipated that will include both competitive athletes as well as those new to the sport and/or those whose primary goal is to simply finish. Applicants may enter as an individual or as a member of a two or three person relay team. ET 2013 will be limited to 400 total entrants. Register early to be assured a place in this milestone event!
