About This Activity

Skills: Stepping or jumping in from the side; fully submerging and holding breath; bobbing; opening eyes under water and retrieving submerged objects; front, back, jellyfish and tuck floats; front and back glides; rolling over from front to back and back to front; changing direction while swimming; treading water using arm and leg actions; combined stroke on front and back; finning arm action. Prerequisites: Successful completion of Level 1 or be able to: 1) enter the water safely, travel 5 yards, bob 3 times and safely exit; 2) Glide on front for 2 body lengths, roll to a back float for 3 seconds, and recover to vertical.
