Ruff Dugger Vs Cani-Fit eXperience.

Sat 12th March

Ruff Dugger is trail / mud / obstacle runs you can take part in with or without your dog. This will test your fitness and team working skills to the max. Come and take part in Scotland’s leading obstacle , mud trail run for runners with their dogs.

Our next event will be held at Auchinleck Estate, Boswell Coach House, East Ayrshire.

Running through, technical trails through caves, ancient Castle ruins, ice houses, hobbit houses, on the banks of the stunning River Lugar. Not forgetting our signature mud ditches to navigate through.

 

“Technical, muddy, off track routes that will test your determination and team work with your dog. With natural obstacles to get over, up, through and down this is set to be fantastic fun and adventure you won’t forget! Run the course on your own, with a pal, or just you and the dug!"

Team will consist of 2 adults, same or mixed sex at least 1 team mate must have a dog. Spot Prizes at finish line.  Stalls , Cafe and Hot food night time bar on site for after a fantastic weekend event. Don’t forget your towel and clean clothes for after .

Social event: Come join us on the Sat evening for a get together in the bar , with some hot food and music. Price TBC.. Be prepared for a great party!

Camping available Fri and Sat night on course at £8 per vehicle per night. (pay on arrival)

Facilities: Access to water , toilets and bins all on site. On site Cafe is open 10-5 , early breakfast orders will be taken on sunday to accommodate competitors .

You can canicross this or run your dog on a lead, no choking mechanisms allowed, dogs must be 12 months and over.

Dogs who wear a muzzle whilst running, must have an open basket, or grey hound racing type muzzle, one that allows opening of mouth fully. 

No need to be a Pro at running come have some fun with your 4 legged friend.

CANCELLATIONS – Should you be unable to attend the event then please contact the organiser by email as an official waiting list may be in place. To claim a refund should competitor(s) be unable to attend please send a self addressed stamped envelope to the organiser. Any requests for refunds must be made 30 days prior to the event date, this will be entry fee minus costs the organiser has incurred. Should the event need to be cancelled for reasons out with the organiser’s control a refund will be available again minus costs the organiser has incurred. If the event is postponed then the entry can be transferred to the rearranged event. NOTE the organiser is unable to transfer entries to other runners.

Building on the success of the fith event at Boswell Coach House, the Cani-Fit eXperience is back bigger, better with  a stunning new course.

Auchinleck Estate/ Boswell Coach House:

“Situated in the heart of Ayrshire, close to the village of Ochiltree, we have easy access from both the A70 and A76 main roads with seating for 80 people, ample car parking and easy disabled access.

A cosy Coffee House, exclusive Gift Shop and rustic Function Suite, lie in the heart of the 500 acre estate – where you can explore the romantic and atmospheric ruins of the original 13th century medieval Auchinleck Castle and the 17th century Old House or Place of Auchinleck.

The stunning Ayrshire countryside, dramatic wooded gorges, caves and cliffs can all be enjoyed on one of our Woodland Walkways and Cycle Paths.

And for the children – our fabulous Children’s Play Area, featuring the amazing Tree House and Hobbit House is not to be missed”

Canicross Races: Dogs must be over 12 months to compete.

*All distances will be approx , as close to 3/5km as course allows.

•Junior 7-10 3km

•Junior Girls 11-15 3km

•Junior Boys 11-15 3km

•Female 16-39 5km

•Male 16-39 5km

•Female 40+ 5km

•Male 40+ 5km

•Female/ Male 18+ 2 dog 5km

Bikejor Races: Over 16 years only and dogs must be over 12 months to compete. Bikejor allows 1 dog per team.

Dog Scooter : Over 16 years only and dogs must be over 12 months to compete. Scooter allows 1-2 dogs per team.

These sports are all dog powered sports, and whether your dog runs by your side, or pulls way out in front they should be in a comfortable fitting harness and attached to the runner.  Only in exceptional cases will we allow a dog to canicross in a collar. If in doubt get in touch.

All dogs in bikejor and scooter class must be in appropriate equipment, harness for dog is essential.

Riders must wear a safety helmet and have appropriate clothing on.

Please check that all your equipment is in full working order before racing.

Please note dogs can only enter one class per day with the addition of a Jnr class, it is down to the owner to ensure the dog is fit and able to run both classes.

Junior under 10 years must have an adult with them during race.
