About This Activity

Water Safety Instructor Course - developed by the American Red Cross to certify people 16 and older to teach American Red Cross Water Safety Courses, including the Preschool and Learn to Swim programs.

Prerequisites for the course: demonstrate all six strokes at a Level 4 proficiency or better; float on the back for 1 minute; be able to attend ALL class sessions.

This is a 30 hour course that results in WSI certification (upon passage of written exam with 80% or better and 'pass' on practice teaching requirements); certification good for 2 years, renewable yearly by teaching swim lessons.
