What's Included

In this course we will explore topics in aerospace engineering related to rocket design. Topics will include characteristics of propulsion systems (efficiency, thrust, and complexity), materials, aerodynamics, launch velocity, and payload calculations. Students will use a design tool to optimize rocket designs to meet specified challenges, build scale models, and participate in launches to assess performance (weather permitting.) The course will also cover the historical context of spaceflight from WWII to current times. see http://www.ncssm.edu/accelerator/aerospace-engineering-rocketry for more details and requirements
