What's Included

Create your own 3D Video Game! Learn how to design your game from start to finish, beginning with pencil and paper and ending with a polished, professional-looking game. Throughout this process you'll will learn the fundamentals of 3D Game Development. To develop the games, campers will use OWL Game Creator, developed specifically with this age range in mind. This software program equips campers with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue Game Design at a professional level. Campers will learn level design, texturing, volumes, lighting and more to build out their 3D world - they can create anything they can imagine! Campers will also learn Game Scripting so that they can program the functionality of their game. At the end of camp, each camper will be able to download their own 3D Game and share it with family and friends. Campers do not need any prior experience to succeed in this camp. This camp is a great introduction to the world of 3D Game Design and Development Offered in partnership with Youth Digital Studio

About This Organizer

Duke School is a nonprofit independent project-based preschool-eighth grade school in Durham, North Carolina. Duke School is committed to engaging in the continuing public dialogue to improve education for all young people, and was one of only a handful of schools around the country to be featured in the 1999 HBO production Goodnight Moon and Other Sleepytime Tales. It was also featured in the PBS series "Raising Young Children" and was chosen by the state of North Carolina as a model preschool. Duke School serves as a leading educational institution both within the "Triangle" and wider educational community; its teaching methods continue as a model for both public and other independent schools, and its unique child-centered, project-based integrated curriculum continues to adapt to serve a variety of learning styles.
