FAT TIRES ONLY. NO ROAD BIKES, NO CYCLOCROSS BIKES, and NO DRAFTING.
This is a fun, early season, off road duathlon. It's also a USAT sanctioned event and a great opportunity to get yourself ranked regionally or nationally as a duathlete. For more information, please visit the USAT website http://www.usatriathlon.org/.
Runs are on grass and pavement; bike is on sand, gravel paths, roads, grass and some off-road through thin woods. Dirt may be soft or hard depending on temperature and rains. Off-road sections are not technical and the course is well marked with flags and chalk arrows.
All racers must have ANSI approved cycling helmets and all chin straps must be fastened BEFORE you leave the transition area. NO DRAFTING - all USAT cycling rules apply.
Hammonasett is a scenic state park located on the Connecticut shoreline. Wildlife refuge areas and plenty of beachfront make this one of New England's most scenic venues.
