Racing to Save Lives
I am training to ride America's Most Beautiful Bike Ride, a 100-mile ride around Lake Tahoe on June 4, as a member of The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training. My goal...besides finishing...is to raise $4000 to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood disorders from taking more lives. I'm completing the ride in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! My personal connections are my friend Jeff Nachtigal who is a leukemia survior, and my dad, who is currently being treated for myelodysplasia and pancytopenia.
Training is going well. Plus I've met my first fundraising deadline, so now I can focus all of my attention on ramping up both training and raising the $4000 total I'll need by May 19.
Here's an illustration of the power of donating:
- $54 = one week of low-grade chemotherapy
- $75 = screening for bone marrow donor
- $100 = monthly blood analysis
- $200 = blood transfusion
Please donate to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
