Racing to Save Lives
Dear Friends and Family,
Many of you may be aware of all the crazy endeavors I have undertaken in the past. This one may top the list. I have just signed up to run a marathon with Team in Training in order to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. But that’s not all, while attending the kick off celebration other participants convinced my mom to walk a half marathon. Together we will be raising money to fight this devastating disease.
Our lives were touched by this disease when my cousin Tiffany was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia as a small child. She went through years of treatment and has been in remission now for 9 years. Six years ago Tiffany participated with Team in Training to complete the same marathon I will. She has become our inspiration for completing this amazing event.
As you may or may not know, leukemia is the #1 disease killer of children and the leading fatal malignant disease of men and women under the age of 35. Although the cause of leukemia remains unknown, steady advances in research bring us closer to a cure every day.
Together we have committed to raise $7800 by May 20th to fight this disease. Your tax deductible contribution will support the development of treatment methods through research advances. Only with donations like yours can treatment research continue. Contributions may be made quickly on this web site. Many businesses offer a matching contribution program, please inquire whether your employer will match your donation.
We truly appreciate your willingness to help and thank you for your generosity.
Thanks for your support,
Gayle and Marsha deJesus’
