Racing to Save Lives
It seems like only yesterday that I sat in the Worthington Library and heard about the program offered by Team in Training. I can hardly believe that it has been almost 5 months. I thought I was doing this to help change lives but little did I realize that mine was changed more than anyone else’s.
Many of you have asked if I would supply a map to the race. The answer is yes and you can follow this link to find your way.
Scroll down to Directions to Race Site. The best place to see the most action is at the beach off of Lewis Center Rd. I will begin my swim at approximately 7:30am and will hopefully complete the event before 10:00am.
Well now for my progress since the beginning of training:
I have bicycled the distance from Worthington to Kansas City, MO or 669 miles, run from home to the Ohio River or 120 miles and swum from home to Columbus City Hall and the Santa Maria. A whopping 13.5 miles, I’m just glad I didn’t have to do it in the Olentangy River. I have lost a total of 48.5 pounds to date and hope to break 50 by race day.
I understand that my hero, Trew is out of the hospital and recovering well. He plans on being at the race and possibly practice this weekend. Kids bounce back so quickly. My prayer is that we continue to conquer this disease before another life is lost. We are on the right path, it’s just a matter of time. If you have not made a donation yet and wish to do so you can right now and your tax deductible donation will begin working immediately.
Thanks to all of you who have prayed for, supported and encouraged me throughout this time. I am honored to have people like you surrounding me. I will give you a follow up after the race.
See you at the race!
