Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the Nike Women's Marathon (26.2 miles) in San Francisco as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this marathon in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! The picture above is of one of those people. Isabella Jane Grosso is a 3 year old who was diagnosed with leukemia in October of 2004. In addition to Bella, I'm Ialso going to run in honor of my father, Jim Buck a cancer survivor and also in honor of Johnathan Macrea, Bob Wheeler, Vivian Sager, Christina Rescanski, Fran Bzoreski, the Stafford family (grandfather, father and son) , Paul Kingston, Kathy Barry Ferriter & Katherine Campany, Barbara Buck, Inga Vatet, Carolyn Saverino and Sylvia Shively
Please make a donation to support Bella as well as my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.
Training has been going well. It's the last day of July and we did a 12 mile training run today - something I thought I would NEVER be able to do - it's amazing what we can accomplish when we actually attempt it. We'll see how I do with 26.2 miles!
