| Cancer has touched countless families in the Central New York area. One family affected by Cancer is the Luu family; whose son Shaun succumbed to the illness in 2005. Shaun was an unusual, but much loved young man. He enjoyed the sport of skateboarding, was extremely active in the local hardcore music scene, and a Horror Film lover. The Shaun Luu Horror Fest was originally created to raise Shaun’s spirits during his Cancer struggle. The Fest has continued in his honor as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. The organizers strive to make the Fest bigger and better each year; not just for the Luu Family, but all families touched by this relentless disease.
Here are the funds we are raising money for:
Fund 273 Neuro Oncology
Fund To support data management and neuro oncology research for brain tumor studies
Nurses Station
A permanent, high visibility work area located on a main corridor adjacent
to a single patient room where physicians, nurses, and other health care
providers can consult, make notes in a patient*s record or write patient
orders after visiting a patient in the adjacent patient room
The caregiver workstation will be located in between patient rooms. This
particular station is a little smaller in scope than some of the other
stations, but still highly visible. It's a great naming opportunity that
just recently became available. I think that you will be happy with this
area. It provides a great memorial for Shaun Luu.
