Young Leaders for Change Campaign

Help us give more inner-city youth the gift of opportunity!

Did you know that what young people do out of school may be the biggest factor in how they do in school? The sad truth is that most inner-city kids have very few after-school options. But because of All Stars Project, which provides terrific after-school development programs for over 10,000 kids in New York and New Jersey, there’s hope.

Middle-class kids have many opportunities to develop outside of school: music lessons, sports, conversations with successful relatives, and more. The hard truth is that inner-city kids get very few of those opportunities. Many have never been out of the 10-block area around their housing projects. And in many neighborhoods, All Stars is truly the only after-school option. But that one option can make a huge difference.

All Stars kids are writing plays, producing cultural events, performing, volunteering, working in major corporations and developing in a hundred other ways. Please visit our website to find out more: www.allstars.org.

Each year All Stars honors a grouping of young people. We call them Young Leaders for Change. All of this year’s Young Leaders live hectic lives juggling jobs, school and family responsibilities, yet still find the time in their busy schedules to support the All Stars in the ways they can. They are doing great things – they’re making a difference in their communities, and are hungry to keep growing.

It’s essential that we continue to support and nurture young people in our toughest communities to develop as leaders by helping All Stars reach more youth. All Stars couldn’t possibly continue welcoming more kids than ever without your help. There are hundreds of young people who would love to be part of the All Stars this year for the holidays. That’s why we are asking everyone to take a moment and sponsor at least one All Stars youth on behalf of the 2006 Young Leaders for Change. Thanks!
