| Jane Tableriou was instrumental in setting up the Williamson County Animal Shelter. Upon her death in January 2009 a special fund was established in Jane’s name to help pets who are brought to the shelter with treatable injuries.
From time to time the shelter receives a dog or cat with an injury that they are not capable of treating at the shelter. If the injury is life threatening or serious or too painful sometimes they must euthanize those animals. The fund allows for taking many of these animals to an outside vet for treatment they would need, thus saving their lives and making them eligible for adoption.
Donations to Jane’s Fund are set aside for this purpose and the public can continue to donate to this fund. This event is designed to provide publicity for Jane’s Fund, as well as the shelter itself, and they this money to treat at least some of these adoptable animals with local area vets. |
