| Giving Wings to Those in Need!!!2008 |
|
| What is Wings of Mercy? Wings of Mercy is a non-profit volunteer pilot organization established by Peter VandenBosch in Holland, Michigan in 1991. It is dedicated to providing access to FREE, private airplane transportation for medical patients with low/limited disposable income. Wings of Mercy is supported through donations from individuals, private businesses, churches, and fund raising events. Donations are tax deductible.
Who are the people that participate with Wings of Mercy? Wings of Mercy has a Board of Directors and a staff of one Flight Director and one Flight Coordinator. Wings of Mercy require two pilots to fly every mission. We have over 70 airplane owners in West Michigan who volunteer their time and the use of their airplanes to do missions. In addition we have over 200 other pilots who volunteer their time to fly as the Second-in-Command for each mission.
Who are the people Wings of Mercy serve? Recipients, varying in age from very young infant to elderly senior citizen, must have a medical need and have residency, or will become a resident, in one of the following states: Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Illinois, or Indiana. Wings of Mercy also fly recipients in need of organ transplant transportation. |
