Walkin’ on the Wild Side for Hemophilia

Everyone Makes A Difference!

HFM along with event co-chairs, Daryl Brown and Suzanne Liston Faunce, are proud to announce a new fundraiser for 2009. Walkin' on the Wild Side for Hemophilia will take place on Saturday, August 29 at the Detroit Zoo. (This is NOT Labor Day Weekend) Walkin' on the Wild Side for Hemophilia is a family-friendly way to raise awareness and funds for HFM’s programs and services, including Camp Bold Eagle. Everyone is encouraged to form a team. Remember, the bigger the team, the better! Our goal is to raise $100,000. Registration (with breakfast) begins at 7:45am; the Walk starts at 9:00am. There will be entertainment, prizes, and fun for all ages. Everyone is invited to stay and enjoy a day at the zoo after the Walk. Each participant who raises $100 will receive all day admission to the zoo, Walk t-shirt, refreshments, "Zoo Bucks" accepted at any concession stand for purchase of food and beverages and a special give-a-way. Registration fee of $10 per person gets you all day admission to the zoo and refreshments. Children UNDER 2 are free. Please keep in mind this event is a FUNDRAISER and there are costs associated with admission to the zoo, Walk t-shirts, give-a-ways and refreshments.

Ebert Hansen	$25.00	"Hi, The name Ebert is really Mr. Ed. I have two names but Ebert is the one on all of my documents. I have been called Ed for a long long time. I had a twin sister named Ethel. My mom named me Edward. The nurse said Edward is too common, let me come up with one that isn't. She sure did as I am the only Ebert in the country according to Googles name searching. My birth certificate had already been typed up so she crossed out Edward and and wrote in Ebert at an angle. When I applied for my passport the woman that gave me the legal copy of my birth certificate told me I was in trouble for writing across one name and entering another. Lady, I said if I could have done that when I was one day old I wouldn't be standing here talking to you today. Oh, she said and handed me my certificate. Off to Jim Hunter our attorney's office I went as I knew I was in deep shit. He said my legal name is Edward but if I was using Ebert just keep on doing it for legal papers."
