Saint Nicholas was a virtuous man who was known for his charity and philanthropic spirit. He lived in the fourth century and is best remembered for leaving bags of gold on the doorsteps of the poor. Saint Nicholas' Feast Day, December 6th, is observed as a children's holiday in many countries throughout the world and celebrates the human kindness that helps build every community.
A Visit From St. Nicholas
On December 6th, 2,700 elementary school children from eight under-served San Diego County schools will realize some legends are true.
On this day, the children will arrive at school to find they have all been left backpacks filled with toys and books.
