This past year, the Carroll Center for the Blind celebrated 71 years of helping blind and visually impaired persons to achieve independence, self-sufficiency and self-fulfillment. Each year the Carroll Center makes a difference in the lives of thousands of blind and visually impaired individuals by providing a multitude of services to clients of all ages. Our CarrollKids program provides in school educational support, college prep services, extracurricular activities, summer camps, and a vision resource library for blind children. In addition, we provide independent living skills training, onsite and online computer courses, vocational training and support and adaptive outdoor recreation opportunities to blind and visually impaired adults. Finally, we assist many visually impaired seniors by offering mobility instruction, adaptive techniques for low vision, and by providing in home assessments to ensure safety and offer tips on learning to live with vision loss.
Your support of the Carroll Center and VISION 5K means the world to us and, more importantly, to our clients. Your support is a testament to our shared belief that people who are blind and visually impaired are able, with appropriate rehabilitation, education and skills training to live independent, active, fulfilling lives.
