| Dear family and friends,
This time last year, we started training for our first half marathon. It was one of the hardest things we have done and every time we wanted to give up, we thought about our friend, Rachel Lior and her battle with Crohns. Rachel has fought a terrible battle for over 8 years, living most of those years in and out of hospitals trying to get well. Rachel never stopped fighting and her strength gave us the strength we needed to run 13.1 miles last year and the strength to do it all over again this year!
Our friend Jessica Fischer, who suffers from Crohns and had 10 inches of her intestines removed in 2002, got us involved with the CCFA last year. We are so thankful that she introduced us to a foundation that cares so deeply, not only about this disease, but the people that are fighting this awful disease.
As hard as it seems to train and run 13.1 miles again, We plan to complete the half marathon, on June 2nd, 2012. We are running for Rachel Lior, Jessica Fischer and for everyone that Cohn’s and Colitis affects.
Please help us honor them by raising money for the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of America (CCFA). Crohns disease and ulcerative colitis are known together as inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). It is estimated that 1.4 million Americans have IBD, however many more suffer in silence. It most often affects people between the ages of 15 and 40.
We hope our efforts makes a difference in fighting a disease that affects so many. Please consider supporting us in this half marathon. Whatever donation you can make is greatly appreciated.
We cannot thank everyone who donated last year, enough; We were so touched by everyones consideration and anyone who donates this year, thank you, it means so much to us and makes us so happy that people care as much as we do. Thank you so much for your support! Go Team New Jersey! |
