Proceeds from this race will be donated towards The Alport Syndrome Foundation( ASF) to support research and our upcoing research symposium at the 2010 International Pediatric Nephrology Association Congress in New York City, August 2010. ASF is a volunteer-led organization formed by families affected by this genetic kidney disease. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit Foundation that gives a voice to all those affected by Alport Syndrome and champions research to find a cure. The majority of those affected by Alport Syndrome are boys who require dialysis or a kidney transplant by their early 20s.
