| Thanksgiving Day will soon be here, a time to celebrate and count our blessings with friends and family. But, unless we help the 456,000+ individuals in Orange County who are at-risk of missing meals sometime each month, to them, there won’t appear to be any other apparent alternative to an empty plate this Thanksgiving!
The loss of jobs and the weakened real estate market has created major problems for the community. More and more people have turned to the Food Bank for hope and help.
Your gift will help to ensure that families do not stare at empty plates this Thanksgiving Day. Please open your heart and send your gift today to help feed your hungry neighbors, many of whom are children. Thanksgiving can either be a time of hunger and despair—or a time of joyous celebration—it’s up to you!
Thank you. May you and those you care about have a happy and healthy Thanksgiving.
PS: At Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, a total of 94.2 cents of every dollar you provide goes directly to feeding the hungry in Orange County.
In partnership with 430 member charities, the Food Bank helps feed more than 220,000 individuals each month. Those served include the working poor, children, seniors on fixed incomes, single parents, the disabled, the homeless and individuals experiencing medical emergencies or recent job layoffs. |
