| “A hero is an ordinary individual who finds the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.” -Christopher Reeves-Actor
As the CEO and President of the Tug McGraw Foundation, I've had the opportunity to meet some of the world's most extraordinary people, including one woman named Jenny McDevitt. I can identify with her as a mom, a friend and a wife. What sets us a part from our daily routines of going to work, making meals and playing with our sons named Jack is that this mom, friend and wife battles the deadliest of brain tumors, a Glioblastoma.
Since her diagnosis four years ago, she has completed five marathons, including planning her own upcoming race event, Joggin For The Noggin , a 5K run benefiting the Tug McGraw Foundation in Palatine, IL.
I must admit I have days when I don't want to go to the office or plan another meal and simply feel overwhelmed. But then I remember my friend Jenny who truly is overcoming obstacles by giving hope to others who face similar challenges.
So I'm lacing up my shoes and running to support my hero and friend, Jenn. I'm asking my friends, family and colleagues to give generously, so we can continue to improve the quality of lives of people such as Jenny.
