| Trish Cohen's Quest for Maccabi Gold |
|
Imagine the thrill of marching into a stadium along with thousands of Jewish athletes from around the world. That’s where I’ll be July 2009 as part of the 900+ delegation representing the United States at the 18th World Maccabiah Games in Israel, as a member of the USA Cycling Team. My journey to the Maccabiah Games began in 2006, when I first began racing my bike. I catted up from level 4 to a level 1 in one season by hitting the podium in most Florida races. In 2007, I began racing the Professional National Race Calendar schedule. In true Type-A fashion, I ran myself into the ground with work and racing and was out for the 2008 season. Now I'm finally feeling better and planning to take on the 2009 season with a vengeance. My primary goal of the 2009 season is Maccabi Gold from the Holy Land. Inherent in this task is raising money for Team USA. I appreciate your assistance with this fundraising goal. If you don't want to help me, but are the gambling type, please contact me about donating $100 and you'll receive a raffle ticket with your chance to win:
First Prize - Super Bowl, Masters Golf, Wimbledon, Hawaii trip, Israel trip, or Cash. Second Prize - NCAA Final Four, Super Bowl, Caribbean Cruise or Cash. Third Prize - U.S. Open Golf, NBA All-Star Game, Baseball All-Star Game, San Francisco trip, Broadway trip or cash. Only 1000 tickets will be sold, so get yours soon. P.S. I Finally uploaded a photo that I don't hate. It is from the 2007 Redlands Classic Stage Race and it was taken from a far enough distance that you can't tell my helmet and glasses are askew, mouth is wide open, and snot is dangling from my nose. It's a cruel irony that I was riding in front of a church instead of a synagogue when this photo was taken. |
