| Thank you so much for your donation and commitment to this cause. I've had many people close to me who've been affected by breast cancer and hope that one day I won't need to say goodbye to a friend or family member because of this horrible, horrible disease! Early detection is key, but we have a long way to go in finding cures and saving every single woman (and man) affected.
This is my FIRST race, of any sort- EVER. Unless you call life a race. :) I opted to make the Tri For The Cure my "inaugural" race/attempt because many women in my life were affected/are affected by breast cancer.
I am racing in loving memory of the women in my family who were affected by breast cancer and ultimately lost the fight: my Granny, Vesteen (the next best thing to a Grandmother) and my "Aunt" Vicky.
I am racing in honor the women in my family that are breast cancer survivors, my Mimi, Aunt Shanna, Aunt Margie and Aunt Connie.
And in honor and memory of my Nana, who passed in her 90's, but battled breast cancer earlier in her life.
