"Champions" are key to the success of the TRI-TO-WIN Sprint Triathlon. The fundraising campaign truly makes an incredible impact…on our collective efforts to TRI-TO-WIN...the fight against melanoma!
Creating your own fundraising page as an individual, or joining together with friends or co-workers to form a team, is very easy to do and incredibly rewarding. Simply go to the top of this page and click on "Become a Fundraiser," then select: * "Fundraise as an Individual" or * "Create a Fundraising Team."
Be creative and have fun to earn satisfaction and awards. All "Champions" receive a technical race shirt, and complimentary clinic conducted by a professional triathlon coach, and with just a little promotional effort, successful "Champions" raising $500 or more will earn their choice of a portable family sun shade canopy or heart rate monitor.
Download the Active Fundraising Guide if you have questions or use the "Help Desk." And remember, you are all "Champions" in both this campaign and the TRI-TO-WIN event! Good luck with your training and fundraising!
FACTS:
• Melanoma is the most serious and lethal form of skin cancer.
• One person dies every hour in the U.S. from melanoma.
• Incidence rate in Maryland alone increased over 300% in the past two decades.
The “TRI-TO-WIN…the fight against melanoma” triathlon fundraising directly benefits the Joanna M. Nicolay Melanoma Foundation. The Foundation, an all-volunteer, non-profit charity, is known throughout Maryland and nationally as "the voice for melanoma prevention, detection, care and cure." Triathletes, experienced and first-timers alike, join the community of patients, families, doctors, educators and concerned individuals to:
• support medical research that will ultimately lead to a cure for melanoma;
• seek opportunities to educate the general public on prevention and the seriousness of melanoma; and,
• provide resources for patients and the entire melanoma community.
