Emily's Team In Training Page
Road to San Fran
Hi! Thanks for coming to my page. I'm training to run the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco in October (woo hoo!) as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
I'm participating in memory of my Grandma Dot, and in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, especially our greater Milwaukee honored patient, Caleb. Caleb, who loves school (a lot of which he's had to miss), is a fabulous 6 year-old who has been fighting leukemia since July '05. Thankfully, he should be completing his treatment this July! Hurray! His story of strength and spirit makes every mile worthwhile, and goes to show how your generosity can make a big difference.
If there's anyone you would like me to run in honor/memory of, please let me know their story and I'll keep them with me through training and on to race day, where I'll proudly display their name on my singlet.
I've already donated $75 to get this started, but I've got a lot of ground to cover, so I'm putting out a challenge for you to do the same! Of course, any contribution is greatly appreciated; it all makes a difference and your support means a lot. And all donations are 100% tax deductible! Oooh, aaah!
If you're part of a business/corporation, please consider corporate sponsorship of TNT. Also, many businesses do matching donations, so if your company does, consider asking if they'll match yours! Thanks!!
Please come back and check my training and progress--I'll keep it updated! I'm SO pumped up and excited about this program and about running this journey (well, maybe I'll get back to you around Mile 15!), so I hope you'll join me! Thanks tons!
