Walking to Save Lives in memory of Joseph Boyle, my knight, hero, and angel.

After the verb "to love", the verb "to help" is the most beautiful verb in the world. ---Bertha von Suttner---

Greetings!

What an amazing year I had with team in training as I completed a triple crown in three months: my first marathon, a half-ironman, and a double century. Besides the endurance training I did, all my supporters were so generous in helping me raise over $10,000 for the cause. Because of your support and the advancements in treatments,Mary Elizabeth, former student, celebrated her end of treatment in August. She was quite the inspiration for me to attempt the triple crown along with four heroes who lost their battle with Leukemia, Lisa, Ken,John and Joseph.

Each year as I say “yes!” to assist with raising funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma society, I am touched by the courage I see in honor patients, the stories of loved ones fighting a battle with moxie and an undaunting spirit to share an endless love for life. Each dollar raised and each step I take will help find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma.

Recently, I had surgery on my ankle to repair some damage from previous trainings. At the time of the surgery, I had no idea what it would mean in terms of continuing my participation in an endurance event. According to the doctor running and participating in a triathlon are out for a year. To not be involved for me was not an option. In my life time I want to know that I did all I was capable of doing to help find a cure. With the doctor’s permission, I have been given the go a head to WALK the Vancouver Marathon in May. To keep my connection with the triathlon team, I will be a “support” person for the Victoria Half-ironman. During the triathlon training I will be able to cycle and swim. In order to continue my passion and involvement with the team, I will once again need your support to help me with the financial responsibilities of this adventure to raise $6,500.

As I tell my students, any donation no matter how small gets us one step closer to finding a cure. Thanks in advance for your help.
