200 MILES in 1 DAY!!!

Welcome to my Team In Training home page.

Well, I am doing it again, this time not only as a particpant of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training cycling team, but also as a mentor.

I will be mentoring new participants by helping them reach their fundraising and training goals. We will all be training for the Lake Tahoe Century and the Seattle to Portland (STP) double-century. Between June and July I will be participating in two centurys and one double-century. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. Please send this to any family or friends that might be willing to help me raise my fundraising goal.

Be sure to check back frequently for updates.

Thanks for your support!

JUNE 14 2005:

This is now the fifth month of training and we are one month away from the Portland to Seattle 200 mile ride. In the meantime, tomorrow we are off to participate in a century know as "Flying Wheels". I can’t stop thinking about the first time I ever did a century with team in training. The nerves, the anxiety and the excitement all come and go as you wonder how you will do in the event. Of course after the ride you have so much adrenaline, goo, power bars and energy drinks running through your veins creating a feeling that really takes over all of your senses.

I look forward to tomorrow’s century, even though rain is in the forecast! Ironically, it rained and snowed during my first century. I will let you know how the event goes….wish me luck!

Friday July 13:

Well, the big day will be here tomorrow. We will meet by 4:30am and hope to roll out by 4:45am! We recently had a a heat wave move into WA, but that has been replaced by cooler temperatures AND a few sprinkles. I have no idea what the weather will be like tomorrow. Make sure to check back later in the week so I can tell you how it all went. Wish me luck!!
