"Tough times don't last but tough people do." - A.C. Green
In Loving Memory of: Patricia Ralph
In Honour of: Doug Galloway, Justin Kludzinski, Christine Botzler, Nathan Kruljac
Welcome to my Team In Training site! My name is Kirsten and I am training for my first full marathon - 42.2k (26.2 miles) on the 21st October 2007. I am trying to reach my minimum goal of $4,500.00 by the 4th October 2007.
Make a secure tax-deductible donation - it's quick and easy to do; let me worry about running the marathon! I lost my grandmother and know of so many others that have been affected by cancer. I run in honour of them. When my pain feels like too much I will keep going because they have endured so much more than myself. It's a way for me to say I love them and am sorry they've had to go through what no one should.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma society is the largest non-profit volunteer health organization that raises money for blood cancers and patient care in the world. Since its founding in 1949, the Society has invested more than $550.8 million for research specifically targeting these cancers. Unfortunately, the reality is that every 5 minutes someone is diagnosed and every 10 minutes one person dies from a blood cancer so we still have a long way to go.
Every penny I raise helps to stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. In addition, I have decided that if I reach $10,000.00 I will cut my hip length hair and donate it to become a wig for a cancer patient; it's just one more thing I can do to help. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line...a cure. Don't be shy, donate now!!!
