Jo-Ann and Caleb's fight for a cure
Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I want to introduce you to Caleb…my honoree. He is an energetic, vibrant, positive and beautiful 8-year-old boy, who has been given the fight of his life. He is fighting and beating non-Hodgins lymphoma.
It is his strength and determination that has motivated me to take on my own challenge of training for a marathon and fundraising for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This challenge is, of course, no match to what Caleb and others are enduring, but it is a way that I can use my strength and determination to help others. No one else should have to endure what Caleb and so many others are having to enduring.
We need to find a cure!
On December 8th, 2006, I will cross the finish line after 42.2 kms, with a smile on my face…but before I get there, I am committed to raising funds and awareness for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
The society’s mission is to eliminate leukemia, lymphoma (non-Hodgkin & Hodgkin) and myeloma by funding vital Canadian research and promoting public understanding of the diseases until permanent cures are found. Funds raised will help researchers discover better treatments for victims like Caleb and eventually, wipe blood cancers altogether.
After years of exercising to make me feel good, it is now time to exercise so others can feel good too. I realize that the aches and pains I’ll endure while training are nothing compared to what cancer victims endure everyday. Nevertheless, I’m asking you to help me in my fundraising efforts and to contribute to this worthy cause.
On behalf of myself and all those that will benefit from your generosity, I want to thank you in advance for contributing to such a worthy cause!
Thank you for your support!
Sincerely, Jo-Ann Trainor Team In Training
