Raising Funds For A Cure....
I had heard the worst words that a parent can hear are "Your child has cancer"
On March 8, 2004, my husband and I found out just how true that is. Our
daughter Samantha was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. She
was just 2 years old. For the past three years she has endured countless
spinal taps, bone marrow biopsies, finger sticks, surgeries, chemotherapy and
to many hospitalizations to count. Samantha is now experiencing a life that is a little
bit closer to normal. She is currently off treatment and will be celebrating THREE YEARS in remission this April. She is fighting this battle and
winning but this wouldn't be the case if there weren't a group like the Leukemia &
Lymphoma Society.
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Team in Training program is committed to raising money to help fund cancer research. The society invests $36 million in research each year. The research done with this money not only helps in the cure for leukemia's and lymphoma's but also serves as a window to the treatment and cure for all types of cancers. I have
committed myself to help in the fight against cancer and the race for a cure. This
summer my husband and myself will be running/walking 26.2 miles in honor of my
daughter and in memory of two of her friends we lost to this awful disease we call leukemia. The marathon we will be attending is in Achorage, Alaska (The Mayor's Midnight Sun Marathon) This is my second marathon, but my husbands first. We are both overly excited, and ready to walk for a cure.....
We are very committed to this cause and determined to see it through to the finish line
but we need your help. We each have to raise at least $5,100 in honor of Samantha for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. I know that
you are probably asked to give to numerous charities, but I am urging you to contribute
to this charity this year. Please feel free to email me at clicking here.for
further information
Thank you
