Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page! On October 21, 2007 I will be competing in the Nike Women's Marathon, in San ransico, CA as a Team in Training (TNT) member for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The desire to challenge my physical ability and most importantly support The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in their fight against blood-related cancers continues to be the driving force in my decision to contribute as a participant, for the Team in Training program. I believe so strongly in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's efforts and its positive impact on cancer patients and their families that I am honored to be spending the next 4 months raising cancer reserch money, meeting with cancer survivors, and training to run 26.2 miles. I know that I will be thinking about all the cancer patients, especially in those last few miles of the running event when I feel I can't go any longer. My heart, soul, and sore muscles will help me accoplish my first goal, but accomplishing the fundraising goal cannot be done without generous sponsors. My goal is to raise $5,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society by October 1, 2007. Of that amount, over 75% of the money raised will be used by the Society for research, patient services and education. All donations are tax-deductable and NO DONATION IS TOO SMALL.
