In Honor of Ray Morris
Welcome Friends and Family:
I am training to participate in a triathlon on May 6th, 2007, as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. This race is in honor of Ray Morris. Ray was my brother in law, who battled cancer for the last few years of his life. Ray will always be remembered for his vibrant spirit, laughter, and love of life. Initially I entered this race while Ray was still alive in hopes of raising awareness. I am not sure how much I can actually do as one person, but I felt the need to challenge myself, and give something back to the world that has given me so much. Everyday we're given the grace to get out of bed, start our work day, and embark on whatever adventure God has in store for us. Well, I want to make Ray proud, and I want to do this for myself. I don't want to just "get out of bed and start my day." I want to start my day and make it the best day I possibly can. I want to do as much as I can, with the good health I have been blessed with. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. The research for these diseases is utilized in finding cures for many other cancers. These people that live with this each and everyday are the real heros.
