Jonathan Taylor's Team In Training Page
Running to Make a Difference
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the Avenue of the Giants half marathon as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.
Before I decided to join the Team in Training, I did not have a personal connection to leukemia and lymphoma society. But, like almost everyone, I do have friends and family members who have fought battles with cancer and research breakthroughs in blood cancer can mean breakthroughs in other forms of cancer.
The stories of the honorees and the research breakthroughs funded by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society have really inspired me.
My goal is $3000! Help us cure blood cancer!
Please help us raise money to cure blood cancers by donating to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and supporting my participation in the Team in Training program. At least 75% of funds donated go directly to research and patient services.
As a statistician at Stanford, I have had the opportunity to work with researchers who search for cures to deadly diseases like HIV/AIDS and cancer, the type of research funded by groups like the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Knowing that my participation in the Team in Training program will help fund this research is very important to me.
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
Update: 02/04/2006Started training today. Ran 4.? miles -- feels great. Looking forward to longer runs and supporting our team. We met two of our honorees today: I am really proud to be running for Doug Booth and Jazmine Garcia. Doug's speech today really hit home in how much our efforts support the LLS' cause. Thanks to everyone who's already donated!
Update: 04/07/2006One month from now is the race! I have been training hard (in fact training with my team, I have already ran a half marathon)! I am really excited to get to Humboldt and race.
Our fundraising has been a success! Thanks for all of your support!
