Emma Burgess' Team In Training Page
Racing to Save Lives
I am training for the December 11, 2005 Honolulu marathon with Team in Training, and fundraising for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society!
On Saturday, November 19, I ran 20 miles in Monterey with TNT! This is my furthest distance ever. It was the most beautiful run that I have ever done: perfect weather, blue skies, and ocean and golf course views!
Our training is essentially complete and now we are in taper. (Just in time for Thanks Giving!) We do need to continue to exercise regularly; we just won't be doing any long runs before the marathon, that is nothing over 6 miles.
It's funny to think that when I first started training with TNT, and ran 6 miles for the first time in my life, what an accomplishment that was for me. We’ve all come so far as a team, physically and mentally!
I’m looking forward to the marathon on December 11th! Thanks to all my friends and family for your support – you are helping save lives!
