Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
I am training to participate in the 2008 Napa Vineman Ironman as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training - Ironteam.
Some of you may know that I joined Team in Training in 2006 to complete the Honolulu Marathon. I went from barely being able to run a couple of miles to running 26.2 miles within a few months. I am hoping that the same miracle happens with the Ironteam.
I have continued to push myself in 2007 by learning how to ride (and fall) on a road bike and learning how to swim (rather than just dodge the waves) in the ocean. As of Sept 2007, I have never completed a triathlon. You may think that I am crazy for signing up for an Ironman that requires a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and 26.2 mile run... I am. Besides being crazy... I am doing this for a good cause.
All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
