Spring 2008 - Wildflower Triathlon
- What?
I have joined the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training for a fourth season. In the past year I have ridden a century and a double century with the cycle team and run a marathon with the run team. This season I have signed up with the triathlon team. I will be training for the Wildflower Triathlon in May.
- Why am I doing this?
I challenged myself last year and was able to do things I had not thought possible. I am taking this opportunity to challenge myself again - to another season and to complete a triathlon. Although the training and fundraising are a lot of work it is very rewarding. I have met so many great people and I truely believe in the mission of the LLS.
- How is LLS helping people with blood cancer?
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. It relies on the support of individuals, corporations and foundations to fund the Society's research initiatives, patient services and education programs. These donations have helped the society invest more than $424 million in research specifically targeting leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma since its founding in 1949.
- How can you help?
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. Every dollar you donate helps. Remember all donations are 100% tax deductible.
