Wildflower Part 2

May 6th, 2006 is D-day 1.2 Mile Swim, 56 Mile Bike & 13.1 Run.

This is a second attempt at taming the beast better known as the Wildflower Long Course Triathlon, through the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program. I will be serving as one of the support staff for the team as a training captain.

You may be asking why I am going through this again? In January of 1993, my sister Jean was diagnosed with leukemia. I knew little about the disease other than it was a form of cancer. I wondered what I could do to help. For 6 months she fought hard, going through chemotherapy, radiation and even a bone marrow transplant. Unfortunately she couldnt beat the disease and passed away 3 days after her 23rd birthday.

Through my involvement with the Society's Team In Training (TNT) program and raising money, I am able to support others in the community that are fighting Leukemia, Lymphoma and Myeloma and helping to fund local researchers at institutions like UC Berkely and Stanford to find better treatments and hopefully cures.

Do a part and get involved. donate!!! More than 75% of all money donated goes directly to research funding and patient services. And of course, your donation is 100% tax deductable.

For updates on my training, please check out my training blog at Training Blog **All the money from the ads on the page will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, so click away.

Thanks for your Support
