Racing to Save Lives - Lavaman Triathlon April 2008
Hi Everyone! Welcome to my fundraising home page!
Being the crazy girl that's always looking for the next unturned rock or in this case, the next wave to catch, I recently signed up to start training to participate in an endurance event as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. It's a triathlon, and so yes, that means biking, running, AND swimming in the open water! The event is to take place in April 2008 so I have about 6 months to raise enough money to potentially become fish-food.
Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Oh great, she wants me to donate money." But before you quickly close this page, I challenge YOU to make a difference to the lives of those affected by Leukemia and Lymphoma. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers and any cancer in general. As some of you may know, I recently lost a friend to cancer. While the cancer was not specific to any blood related cancer, the end result was still the same. The people living with the disease today are real heroes, and I need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. By making a pledge on my behalf, you are supporting research and local services to those affected with this uncurable disease. My goal is to raise at least $6,000 this year. Please help me reach that goal with your pledge.
