Colin Rule's Team In Training Page

"It's a marathon, not a sprint..."

Hi! Welcome to my fundraising campgain home page.

I am currently training full-tilt to participate in the San Francisco Half Marathon on Feb 4, 2007 as a member of the Silicon Valley Chapter of Team In Training. All of us in Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives.

So many people that I love have been victims of cancer (e.g. Liz, Aunt Sandy, my grandfather Richard, and my grandmother Kathleen) -- I know each of your lives have probably been touched in some way by cancer, too.

LLS is a great organization to support in the fight against cancer because researchers believe that cures for blood cancers are a stepping stone to finding cures for many other types of cancer and many other illnesses. In addition, LLS guarantees that at least 75% of all funds raised go directly toward research and patient services.

I'd really appreciate your donation to support my training. Donations are 100% tax-deductible; you’ll receive a receipt from LLS for your tax records. (Also, you can donate through PayPal -- just PayPal me the funds at rulecol at yahoo.com and email me your preferred address -- I'll ensure LLS mails you a receipt.)

Also, if you’d like me to run in honor of any of your loved ones that have been affected by cancer, I will place their name on my race jersey for the race. Just let me know.

I'll be posting updates on this page over the course of my training, so please visit again if you're interested in tracking my progress. (I'll probably keep the pictures of me doubled over, panting uncontrollably, to myself, however.)

I really appreciate your support and generosity, and hopefully working together we get closer to a cure.
