Running to Save Lives

I am training for the San Diego Rock 'N' Roll Marathon on June 3rd with Team in Training!

And not only am I running for myself, I’m running for people with blood cancers. I am raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society who help in the fight against blood cancers including leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin lymphoma and myeloma. I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers. These people are the real heroes on our team and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

How serious is blood cancer? Here are a few stats:
• Every 5 minutes another person will be diagnosed with a blood cancer.
• Every 10 minutes, someone dies of a blood cancer.
• Leukemia is the number one cause of death in children, but it affects 10 times as many adults.
• Forty years ago, only 5% of children diagnosed with leukemia survived. Today, more than 89% of these children will live, thanks to research!

And know that your donations are not only helping find a cure for blood cancers, the money raised also helps find a cure for ALL cancers. As many of you know, my life has been touched by cancer and I am committed to helping find a cure. With your support we can take an active part in finding cure for all cancers.
