Anchorage Marathon while juggling

I think my old body has gone senile on me. Yesterday I ran uphill for an hour and half. Today, not a sore muscle on the horizon. Training with the team, although it is hard work, has been all fun and games. How lucky I am to be doing this. How fortunate to be so healthy. On March 31st, at the Cause for Celebration Night, all the Teams from Monterey and Santa Cruz gathered, for a talk by a famous research scientist, and to hear individual success stories, and to pat each on the back, verbally. I read my re-write of the Gettysburg Address. What a great feeling to receive a standing ovation, and watch the light dance off the tears in their faces. Quite humbling. I'm enclosing it here in hopes that it can help me raise more money, I still need about 3 grand by the end of May. My other intention for doing so is, I want to say thank you, thank you for your help and for your friendship over the years. a footnote: Team in Training began twenty years ago as a mean to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. One score and zero years ago, our founders brought forth upon this continent a new TEAM; conceived in donations and dedicated to the proposition that through research we can cure blood cancer. Now, we are engaged in a great fiscal war testing whether that TEAM, or any Team so conceived and so dedicated can prevail. We have met on a field of great personal trial in that war. We have come to set aside a portion of our lives as a promising hope for those who are either losing their lives, or livelihood to this disease. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But in a larger sense we cannot appreciate the pain of the brave parents whose child has been diagnosed.; we cannot comprehend a child's loss whose parent has died. Those who suffer with blood cancer have consecrated our own lives far beyond our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note, nor long remember our practice run times, but it can never forget Why we are here. It remains for us, the Teams In Training, rather to be dedicated here to the unfinished hope, which they who suffer of this disease have thus far, so nobly advanced. It is rather for us here to re-commit to our physical and fund raising tasks; that from these honored afflicted we take an increased devotion to their cure- for which they might give the last full measure of breath. That, we of this Team highly resolve that those who have died, shall not have died in vain, that this Team, under God, shall have a new birth of perseverance, and that this Team: of volunteers, for the afflicted, and by the grace of the human heart, shall not fail.. Donations are tax deductible. Volunteers don't receive a penny. In LLS (The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society) approximately 75% of your money goes directly to research and patient assistance. Checks can be sent to Greg Morrison 1165 Thompson Ave Santa Cruz, CA. 95062 Pay to the order of: LLS. Thanks again
