My name is Diana and I am a Victorious Cancer Warrior...
...kicking cancer's butt one step at a time.
In June 2006, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Through excellent medical attention, heavy-duty chemistry, a positive attitude, and a lot of luck, I am now still cancer-free. Thanks Dr. Hawley and everyone at Christ Hospital!!!
Many who are dealing with blood cancers aren’t as fortunate. By helping others, I gain strength. That is why I am participating in the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training program and training to walk 13.1 miles in the Mayor’s Marathon. The event takes place in Anchorage, AK on June 23, 2007, exactly one year to the date of my diagnosis.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission. Please give generously and know that your tax-deductible donation is making a difference and is much appreciated.
I'm completing this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers, their families, friends, and the healthcare professionals who give of themselves with compassion every day. These people are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!
YOU GOTTA HAVE FRIENDS!
As you can see by the dancing figure on the status bar at the top of this page, I have surpassed my fund raising goal of $4,800. That feat, like my recovery from lymphoma, would not have been even REMOTELY possible if not for my family and all of my glorious friends, old and new. Your love and support mean so much to me.
While cancer is not something that anyone would wish for, it has brought me a bounty of blessings to go along with the bald head, bruised arms, and tree-trunk legs. Your generosity in joining me as Kick-Ass Cancer Warriors in the battle against blood cancers is something that I will not ever forget. You inspire me daily to try new things, reach for the seemingly unattainable, and celebrate each victory as the unattainable becomes the possible. I will carry each and every one of you close to my heart as I walk the 13.1 miles in Anchorage next month.
Best of everything to you…I LOVE YOU!!!!
Diana
