Updated 9/11/06- This past weekend i went up to Pacific Grove with my team and had one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Not only did i complete my first triathlon, but i was part of something so much bigger. TMT was representing out in Pac Grove with 353 participants, among us we raised over $1.2 million dollars towards blood cancer research this season.
The triathlon itself was an incredible experience- i did finish 211th overall and my time of 2:44:46 was under my projected 2:45!!! There are definitely areas i could improve in as i will continue to challenge myself physically.
The best part of the weekend was being able to share this whole experience with a great group of individuals who have the same desire to help others and make a difference in this world.
Update 8/24/06- I can't believe it, but i've met my minimum fundraising goal ($3950). Pretty remarkable for 3 months!!!
I want to thank everyone who has already donated to my fundraising. I could not be participating in this program without your support. For those of you who haven't donated yet...IT'S NOT TOO LATE! I went ahead and raised my personal goal to see if i could reach $4500.
September 9th is fast approaching and my training is coming along well, this weekend i will be participating in our own little mini prep triathlon as we start to taper the workouts for the race.
