THANK YOU FOR ALL OF YOUR SUPPORT:) Click here for updates!
UPDATE (June 4, 2007): Hello everyone! I've completed 5 radiations so far and have 17 to go. They're not too bad except it's the exact same thing every single day! I've been starting to train for the marathon. The farthest I've gone thus far is 4 miles which is right on schedule :) I went to the foot dr. last week and learned that I have extremely flat feet and if I don't get orthotics, I won't be able to walk by the time I'm 50!!! So needless to say, I will be getting them very soon. That definitely explains the foot pain I've been having! Thank you so much for all of your support. It means the world to me :)
(May 24, 2007) As many of you know, I was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma on February 7, 2007. This is an extremely rare form of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and a very aggressive, fast moving cancer. I have received four sessions of CHOP chemotherapy and will begin four weeks of radiation at the end of the month. My last PET/CAT scan showed that the cancer is now in remission! Thanks to all of you for your prayers, cards, flowers, gifts, etc. Your kindness has helped me tremendously in getting though this ordeal!
I am training to run/walk in the Nike Women’s Full Marathon on October 21, 2007 in San Francisco, California as a part of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Team in Training”. All of us on Team In Training are raising funds to help stop leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma from taking more lives. I'm training for this event in honor of all individuals who have battled or are battling blood cancers and specifically, Brian Kiefer. I met Brian during one of my chemo sessions and was encouraged by his positive attitude and strength. Unfortunately, Brian passed away while fighting leukemia, leaving behind a sweet wife and four beautiful children. We need your support to cross the ultimate finish line - a cure! The mission of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is to research cures, aid patients and maintain a bone marrow donor registry program.
Please make a donation to support my participation in Team In Training and help advance the Society's mission.(FYI your donation is tax deductible!)
I hope you'll visit my web site often. Be sure to check back frequently to see my progress. Thanks for your support!
