Racing to Save Lives
Welcome to my Team In Training home page.
On May 20, I will honor my niece, Marganie Dumas, by riding 100 miles on abike in the Fletcher Flyer near Asheville, NC. Marganie was diagnosed, unexpectedly, with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (“ALL”) on January 23, 2007. She is the 5 year old daughter of Russ (Irene’s brother) and Cindy Dumas. Marganie is a beautiful blonde, precious princess so much like our 5 year old daughter, Ruth Emmon.
My goal is to raise $10,000 for the fight against this form of cancer. Fortunately, Marganie is in remission; however, the nasty disease has left its mark on Marganie and our family. Irene and I need your support.
Why ride? Because this is a small thing that I can do not only for Marganie, but also for others. Ruth Emmon has “slobbed” many times recently over Marganie. I repeatedly have thought and said how unfair it is for a wonderful young child of God to be stricken with Leukemia. But no child, irrespective of her age, should have to face this ugly cancer.
Details! Please send a minimum contribution of $50 (or more, if you can). Make the check payable to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and send to me or donate online. I need to have most of the money turned in by April 1st.
We can fight this together. Please dig deep and help me, help Marganie, and help others afflicted with this terrible disease.
Thank you for your prayerful consideration and your support.
