One foot in front of the other
Hey guys, we did it!! We finished our event this past weekend at Myrtle Beach!! What a great feeling to see friends and family along the 26.2 mile course and especially at the end. Team in Training South Carolina raised $185,000 this season for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Coaches and teammates made this a priceless experience and the memories will last a lifetime. The phrase "endurance event" does not do the event itself justice. We pushed ourselves knowing muscles would be tired and sore but that's all forgotten seeing familiar faces cheering you on. If you would have asked me on Sunday would I do it again, I would have called you crazy but I will, and probably with Team in Training. Members of my family have seen a day to day change in who I am . I hope to be able to run the next marathon with my brother who has seen some of those changes. Team in Training is not just 5 months of training for a specific event, it is a change within yourself that benefits blood cancer patients. The two go together wonderfully!! To all of you that have prayed for our "honored teammates", my buddy James, pictured here, and for our team, I say thank you.
