THE BATTLE IS NOT OVER
The 100 mile bicycle journey around beautiful Lake Tahoe is over. Thanks to you, it was a resounding success. There were 2,100 riders raising money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Sacramento Chapter had 108 riders in itself.
There were riders and chapters from 48 different states. All the riders wore the same Team in Training bicycle jersey except their home state printed across the rear pockets and decorations adorning their helmets that represented their region. Sacramento, my team, had Blue Diamond almond cans. We were referred to more than once as "nutheads" or "nuts."
I raised $4,294.00 total. The Sacramento Team in Training raised $309,000.00 and the event raised $8 million dollars towards the fight against blood cancers.
I speak for the entire Randle family when I tell you how moved we were at the overwhelming response and your generosity. Thank you!
The ride itself went very well. For those into stats: Length- 100 miles, Time- 5:56, Avg. speed- 17 mph, Max. speed- 45.7 mph (Whee!)
